2 weeks

Tomorrow Keira will be 2 weeks old. So far she is a very well-behaved baby and sleeps a lot. In fact this morning was my first day on my own and my kids both decided to sleep in until 9am. Jackpot!! It definitely makes for a better day when you're not dragging butt.
She has finally surpassed her birth weight and measured in at 8 lbs. 2 oz. yesterday at the doctor. He is very pleased with her progress and we don't have to go back until the end of November.
Here are some pics from the last week:
Chubby cheeks!
Happy Big Brother!
Doing what she does best. Zzzzzzz.
A visit from Maile. Liam misses her already!

Dreamgirl

You've been waiting. You've been wondering. Now you can finally see just how beautiful she actually is!!
Keira Delaney made her debut 10 days early on Wednesday, September 17th at 4:04 am weighing in at 8 pounds 0 ounces and is 18 1/2 inches long.

Here is her birth story: I called the doctor's office on Tuesday afternoon because I had been having small dribbles of fluid since Monday morning, but no contractions. They told me to go to labor and delivery as soon as Kyle got home from work. Jamie came over to watch Liam and off to the hospital we went. (I thought this was going to be a false alarm because, again, I felt nothing.) We got to the hospital around 6:30 pm, they hooked me up to monitors and we sat alone in the room for over an hour waiting for someone to check me. Finally the doctor checked me and said I was 3 cm and took a sample of the fluid to check and see if it was amniotic, it was. Therefore, I was being admitted and the baby needed to come out pronto. I was not ready to have her this early, but she was ready to come out. Except that she wasn't because I wasn't contracting regularly on my own, so Pitocin became my new friend and enemy. They started the drip at 11:11pm and by 2:30am the contractions were coming strong and I was 6cm. About an hour later Kyle and I were in the room alone breathing through the pain when all of the sudden I got an extreme amount of pressure. I told him to get the nurse, and she got the doctor and they checked me again and I was a complete 10 cm (this was at 3:57am). She asked if I was ready to give a practice push. Hell yes!! So I did and she yelled "Stop pushing!" (Her head was already coming out.) Kyle said he never saw people move so quickly in his life. Four more people rushed in, they broke down the table, grabbed my legs and told me to resume action. At 4:04 she was here. She was a little blue and took a few seconds to cry, but everything was fine and she, of course, is perfect.

Last photo as a pregnant person. Walking the halls before I got the Pitocin, trying to get things going. Being wide eyed. Her eyes are dark blue, like Liam's were, and her hair is brown with auburn highlights. The royal family's first photo. Liam loves his "Baby Keira"!
Hanging out at home. Man, am I glad to be out of the hospital. We had to stay until Friday afternoon because she had to have a 48 hour blood test to rule out any infection since my water was broken for over 24 hours. All is well!! She did lose some weight and was down to 7 pounds 5 ounces when we left but she was weighed at the doctor's yesterday and has leveled out. Hopefully she will have gained a few ounces by her next appointment Tuesday. I'm sure I'll have more pics to put up soon. Thanks to everyone who came to visit and sent cards and well wishes. Feel free to give us a call and come visit sometime.

My Big Fat Country Concert

Last night, my sister and I went to the Blake Shelton/Miranda Lambert concert at the good old York Fair. The oldest fair in the United States is in my opinion a giant stage for the display of America's gluttony. Anything sweet and or loaded with carbs that can be, is fried. Any meat that can be loaded with BBQ sauce and thrown on a pit, is well, loaded with BBQ sauce and thrown on a pit. Being the native Yorkers that we are we couldn't resist and shared a banana milkshake and small funnel cake, but I think that shows some pretty good restraint.
The concert was great. Blake and Miranda are funny and cute together and we were close enough to see all of their antics. Blake thought it was hilarious to taunt the "lady that sits on the stage and signs all of the songs and dialogue", and make her sign weird stuff. We thought it was hilarious to see her gyrating about, signing the songs to rhythm. (BTW - she looked exactly like the mom from the Duggar family.)
This was probably my last big outing away from home until the Button comes, unless we take Liam to the Fair for a bit this coming Saturday. I also went to the Eagles game on Sunday. Needless to say, I'm pretty tired, sore and crampy after walking and sitting at these events, because as you can tell by the picture below, I'm pretty friggin' huge.
The bassist gettin' down with the sign lady.
Blake looked pretty hot in his blue jeans, I must say.
It doesn't even look real, does it?!?

Big Brother

My baby, my first baby, is going to be a fantastic big brother.
That's one lucky Button in there.
