Busy Weekend

Liam had a lot of new experiences this past weekend from The Birds, to babies, to bikes. Let's start with the most important, his first trip to the Linc for an Eagles game. Yeah, it was preseason, but he didn't know. The fireworks and music were like the real thing to him. Now every time he sees an Eagles decale on a car or a piece of Eagles clothing at the house he busts out a cheer ~ E - A - E - Eagles!!!! We would have had a better time if it wasn't so darn hot, but we made it to the second quarter before putting a tired sweaty baby in the car and driving to Uncle Shawn's to watch the rest of the game.
Liam meeting his betrothed, Riahna. We finally made it to New Jersey to see Bill and Cori's new house and new daughter. She didn't hold his interest too long, not when there were so many toys to get into, stairs to climb and furniture to push around, but she is adorable and Liam though she deserved a little kiss.
Playing at Pappau's. Wow those handle bars are far away!

Little Artist

About a year before I got pregnant with Liam I decided to take up painting. I didn't take a class or anything, and I have no idea what I'm doing, but I like it. I painted two paintings for our house, one for my sister and one for my goddaughter Kennedy before stopping because Kyle and I didn't know if the acrylic fumes would cause Liam to grow a third foot while in utero. Now I'm finally ready to start again! No paint has hit the canvas yet by I took the first step by buying some new paints and even a mini easel this time. (Last time I leaned the canvas up against the wall on an egg carton and sat on the floor!) We'll see if being a mother has drained all my creativity in the next month or so. Until then I'll let Liam take the glory. Thank goodness for Crayola!

Water Baby

Liam was a little tentative about the pool at the beginning of the summer. He wanted nothing to do with any of his floaty toys or rafts and would bawl if we tried to put him in them. He also clung to us for dear life when we held him in the water. But alas that has passed and now he is a jumping, swimming, kicking, face in the water fool. He loves to count to three before jumping off the side and he also loves when we push or pull him around in his float (Beep! Beep!).

Oh, and Daddy has a pretty good time too!

Dog Days of Summer

When it's hot, it's hot but when it's HOT it's . . . well who knows, but I'm sure you all feel where we're coming from. Luckily we have a pool to jump into when the sweat starts dripping from our noses after exactly 3.5 minutes of outdoor activity. And since Liam is only 1, only about 1/4 of the other attendees looked at us weird when we let him spend most of the Senators game running around in just his diaper and sandals. What else can you do when it's 92 degrees at 7:30 at night and your kid is miserable. Needless to say we left after the 6th inning. Even still most of this week has been spent inside in the A.C.
Parents, want your toddler to entertain himself while boning up on his fine motor skills? Break out the old games from the basement and let him loose with the Connect Four board. (Good thinking Kyle!)

On the one day this week that we did decide to brave the heat and take a jog, it ended up being too much for Liam and he passed out. Here's to hoping we get a cool down soon and maybe some rain too.
